As another year comes to a close and we look back at all the adventures we had, the laughs we shared and the fashion we enjoyed, 2013 definitely goes into the history books as one of the best years ever. This was the year Bouquet of Frocks was born!

Midnight Lace
When is lace more appropriate to wear than during the holiday season? We've said it once and we'll say it again, the holidays are for going glam or going home! Maybe don't pull out all the stops at grandma's Christmas dinner and instead, save your stunning lace number for that New Year's Eve party. It's classic, it's pretty, it's 50 kinds of sexy. Just add a dash of sparkle with some jewelry or a chic headband and we're ready to ring in the New Year!

I'm Dreaming of a Sequined Christmas
Photos by Kyler Kelly
Holiday season = party season and if you're anything like me, you have a stunning sequin number hanging in the back of your closet that never sees the light of day. Well now's the time to whip it out! If you're hesitant to go full sequin, opt for a sweet sweater with a dash of sparkle like Debbie. And a good rule of thumb when accessorizing is to let the outfit do the twinkling by keeping the shiny jewelry and makeup to a minimum.
We're not just decking the halls...we're decking ourselves with a little bit of glam! Happy Holidays!

Walking In A Winter Wonderland
Photos by Kyler Kelly
Yet another winter season is upon us and truth be told...I'm kind of excited to pull out my winter gear. (Kind of.) This long, form-fitting number is a great way to add a bit of colour to these winter wonderland days. If you're wondering if I'm cold without the classic Canadian down, the key is layering. Underneath my many wool coats, I'm usually wearing a cozy cardigan for some added warmth!
Just throw on a faux fur infinity scarf (picked up in Hong Kong) and this is basically what I imagine a young, smokin' Mrs. Claus rocked in her heyday.

Jackie's Hair Tutorials: Fishtail Braid
Photos by Kyler Kelly
1) Tie a loose side ponytail (it's easier to control your hair that way)
2) Separate the ponytail into two sections
3) Take a small part of the back of one section and pull it over the top of the same section from the outside
4) Join the small section of hair with the other larger section
4) Join the small section of hair with the other larger section
4) Repeat for both sections of hair, alternating between sections, until you reach the bottom of the ponytail
5) Lastly, move the hair tie from the top of the ponytail to the bottom and secure the braid!

One Person's Junk...
Flea markets are like when imagination and nostalgia have unruly children.
One of my favourite destinations for unique knick-knacks, vintage household items, things you didn't even know you wanted or needed, and yes costume jewelry, is the St-Michel flea market in Montreal. The halls upon halls of kiosks and hidden nooks can be dizzying, and you won't always go home with an amazing haul, but the treasure hunting is half the fun!
P.S. I'm pretty sure this is where Ariel got all those gadgets and gizmos she's singing about...

The First Snow
Well it's that time of year! We've had our first snow and even our second snow and the Canadian deep freeze is settling in. Although temperatures are pretty much unbearable this time of year, Jackie and I still ventured out to take a few photos. The jacket I'm wearing below is perhaps one of my favorites even though I must admit, it isn't quite the warmest. Not to worry, I've found a solution: my little trick for wearing my favourite "not-made-for-Canadian-winters" coats is layering a warm puffy vest underneath. Works like a charm! If any of you have any clever tricks you'd like to share with me on the art of staying toasty while looking cute, please do tell! See ya later, Frockers.
